DISH Wireless is seeking an experienced Zoning Manager to drive the zoning efforts across our Philadelphia markets. The successful Zoning Manager will provide a single point of contact for local zoning issues and will lead the development of a local zoning strategy covering the buildout of DISH’s 5G network. This position will provide an assessment of rules and regulations and court case impacts on our 5G build out, and will develop guidelines for local site acquisition vendors and tower companies to ensure uniformity and conformity with the FCC.
This individual will develop and implement a consistent market risk analysis process and consistent tracking and analysis of zoning code amendments and changes that they may cause to the 5G network design. He or she will serve as the point of contact for major issues with HeadQuarters Development leadership and will develop zoning materials that meet “eligible facilities” (i.e. 6409 as revised WIA filing). In this role, you will:
  • Review standard and exceptions drawings for zoning issues for issues and compliance and provide feedback to the development team and vendors, as appropriate;
  • Develop guidelines for hiring outside zoning counsel (when necessary);
  • Manage billing and approval of timesheets from outside zoning counsel;
  • Collaborate with local RF engineers during the design phase for the selection of sites that are “zoneable.”
Ideal Zoning Manager candidates will have:
  • Two to four+ years of relevant experience managing zoning and permitting processes;
  • Significant experience interacting with local jurisdictions.
  • Juris Doctor degree preferred, but not required.
