WELDER | FABRICATOR
Role Clarity
REPORTS TO: Production Lead

DIVISION: Engineering & Operations

DEPARTMENT: Production

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The Welder | Fabricator is responsible for fitting and welding steel parts using a MIG welding process. They are responsible for assembling parts and may be asked to perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his or her supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
  • MIG weld steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings.
  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a specification.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
  • Follow, create and help maintain welding specifications.
  • Place and remove steel from steel racks and shelving.
  • Cut and bend steel to specific sizes as stated on prints
  • Set up welding cells for serial production runs.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
  • Assemble items as instructed. Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 pounds), or using an overhead crane/hoist.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent – Required.
  • Technical training in welding – Preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
