Summary/Objective
The Warehouse Supervisor 2nd shift plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of products received from suppliers or production shops, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so product flows easily to customers in a timely, efficient and effective manner. This position is responsible for supervising the Warehouse staff to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. The position oversees and supervises associates for shift through communication and delegation and follow-up.

  • Maintains effective communication to accomplish the warehouse receiving and distribution mission in an effective and efficient manner
  • Assist Warehouse Operations Manager in administrative, training, receiving and distribution of products and direction duties for employees.
  • Communicates needs to Warehouse Operations Manager for staffing, supplies and any other needs.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors, and assists in the performance evaluation of warehouse associates; ensures their ability to safely move materials.
  • Develops staff
  • Maintains an equipment pool level to accomplish the warehouse receiving and distribution mission in a safe and effective manner.
  • Monitors the unloading of all materials into the warehouse; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received
  • Ensures materials are staged for delivery and shipping. Resolves discrepancies with invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
  • Monitors the flow of paperwork
  • Oversees the movement of material in the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner

Supervisory Responsibility: This position manages all employees of the Warehouse and Delivery team and is responsible for input into their Performance Development

Work Environment: This job operates in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, reach trucks and sit down forklifts and other equipment including computers, printers and label printers.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is an active supervisory role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm for first shift and 4pm – 1am for second shift. Overtime may be necessary.

Required Education and Experience:

· 3 to 5 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control or materials management in a distribution environment

· 2 years of supervisory experience with proven safety record

Preferred Education and Experience:

· Experience in multi-warehouse management including computer inventory control, delivery and distribution of products for customers both within and outside of the region

· Large staff, multiple shift communication experience

· Demonstrated experience training staff

· Bilingual in Spanish and English

Work Authorization/Security Clearance: This position is responsible for the opening/closing of the facilities – both warehouse and office and must carry a code and key.Employee must be eligible to work in the United States.
