Your Impact:


This position is located at the Wallops Island Flight Facility Operations and Maintenance Service, NASA Wallops, Wallops Island, VA.

Responsibilities:
Work requires skill in verification of documents and operating hand or power trucks. Requires an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.

Specialist will perform a variety of warehousing duties.

  • Receive purchases and enter receipts in MAXIMO
  • Delivery of incoming purchases
  • Pickup purchases from local vendors
  • Fill customers supply orders
  • Enter supply requisitions in inventory program
  • Assist with shelving new inventory
  • Knowledge of tools/issuing tools
  • Proficient with Maximo, Outlook, and general computer functions
  • Use of forklift and ladders necessary (Stacking or palletizing materials)
Here’s What You’ll Need:


U.S. citizenship required. Requires minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience including familiarity with hand and power trucks.

Must be a good communicator both orally and in writing. Must be proficient in the use of MS Outlook, MS word, and MS Excel. Experience with MAXIMO or Government property is preferred.

Essential Functions

Work Environment:
Office environment. (90%)
Travel between facilities and test sites is required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (10%)

Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.) (50%)
Safety and personal protective equipment. (50%)

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Attendance:
Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (<20%) Travel required («5%)

Other Essential Functions:
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others. The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. A valid driver’s license is required.
