As Vice President, Senior Transit and Rail Program Manager at Jacobs you will provide excellent project delivery and client service by leading, planning and delivering major capital improvements in the transportation/transit market, grow our client base and business opportunities, manage quality, and perform in a team environment. In this role, you will support our growing transportation/transit practice. Such projects include, but are not limited to project planning, funding and capital plan development, program scheduling, and design coordination.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop client business opportunities and support project proposal teams.
  • Contribute to the development of a Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Transportation Market Strategy that delivers leading-edge technology solutions for our clients while also actively diversifying and expanding our client base.
  • Use advanced techniques to modify and extend engineering theories, precepts, and practices.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/ modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Assist in oversight of third-party contracts for the planning, design, maintenance, and operations of rail & transit systems.
  • Resolve a variety of our client’s toughest complex problems (i.e., conflicting stakeholder interests, schedule constraints, and funding needs) on multi-faceted projects.
  • Lead and/or provide guidance for the development of scopes/approaches of projects and programs, taking into consideration client needs, company strategy, resource requirement, financial performance, and alternative approaches.
  • Assist teams in development of scopes, estimates, schedules, and negotiate fees with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Review plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates for infrastructure and rolling stock.
  • Serve a senior QC reviewer for technical projects across the company
  • Lead, coordinate and review the work of less experienced planners, scientists, engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.

Additionally, the candidate will:

  • Actively participate in peer review of proposed innovations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry innovations and development
  • Represent Jacobs at conferences through presentation of papers
  • Use relationship with clients to identify upcoming work (on and off the US. mainland).
Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Four-year degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience on rail and transit projects
  • Florida Professional Engineering Licensed
