Job Description

The Chief of Staff team is responsible for managing the high-level business routines of the Chief Marketing Officer of the US Consumer Bank. We act as the primary liaison between the US Consumer Marketing organization and our partners within the Consumer Bank and work alongside the CMO and extended leadership team to define the organizational agenda and strategy. We are behind the scenes to enable the success of the CMO and Marketing organization through management of all communications, events and internal routines. We are looking for a Business Manager that will support the Chief of Staff to help run a team of 600+ employees. This individual will be responsible for a broad range of activities including strategic, analytic and communications initiatives to help ensure the objectives of the team are met. The incumbent will work closely and collaboratively with all members of the U.S. Consumer Marketing Leadership team to ensure alignment of priorities and flawless delivery of related projects. This person will possess outstanding thought leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills.


This role will serve as a thought leader in determining direction for business strategy, in collaboration with the leadership team. He or she will also have a proven record of excellence and be comfortable with operating independently and within a high performing team environment. It is crucial that this individual is a strong relationship builder and works well with others. They must possess exceptional presentation skills with the ability to craft a concise story and be an expert at creating relevant materials for the intended audience. As part of this critical responsibility, the incumbent will represent the U.S. Consumer Marketing leadership team and work closely with a variety of cross-functional partners, such as HR, Finance on business planning and organization engagement to ensure team success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support all executive-level internal and external communication such as weekly bullets, KPI performance sharing, team communications, etc.
  • Prepare and organize all aspects of leadership meetings (e.g., employee Town Halls, Senior Executive meetings, partner events, external meetings etc.) and presentations, including establishing operating rhythms, working with administrative support staff on scheduling, setting agendas, and driving appropriate follow-up
  • Manage headcount tracking and expense management, maintaining accurate records and ensuring approval processes are properly followed
  • Manage the organization of annual team events and coordinate across the different Citi sites to ensure consistency/seamless logistics
  • Play an integral role on the VOE team by leading employee initiatives and recognition programs
  • Assist with strategy planning and goal/priority setting for the business
  • Serve as key linkage and interface for the U.S. Consumer Marketing Team and direct reports to ensure critical business issues are raised and resolved in a timely manner.

Qualifications;

  • 6-10 years of experience in financial markets business or business support
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills. Strong project management skills and discipline to deliver.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, energetic, positive, resourceful, and proactive.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and execute across multiple initiatives independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship, and influence management skills that allow for close partnerships with many different constituents: internal, external, frontline counselors, and senior executives.
  • Exercise excellent judgment to make smart decisions and independently problem solve, while escalating to a leader when appropriate.
  • Ability to be a proactive thought leader and suggest ‘new ways of doing things.’
  • Exceptional professional written and communication skills – clear, logical, and structured
  • Superior organization skills and scrupulous attention to detail
  • Strong sense of integrity with ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Intellectual curiosity and learning agility needed to explore and evaluate new ideas
  • Mastery in the creation of documents (e.g., PowerPoint decks for meetings, podium presentations, business memos etc.)
  • Previous experience of Business Planning / Strategy roles supporting large organizations strongly preferred.
  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred
