Job Description

Position Summary

Reporting to the SVP of Home Appliance, the Vice President Builder Home Appliances is a business leadership role responsible for providing the strategic direction and sales leadership of a rapidly growing organization within Samsung Electronics America. In this role, you will lead and manage the sales and marketing activities for the Home Appliance Builder Business and manage the Home IoT Solutions organization. This position will be accountable for developing new business, driving profitable revenue and growing market share for the single and multi-family Builder channel.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute profitable growth strategy and plan achievement for the Builder Channel
  • Product Development, GTM, and coordination with Product Marketing and Sales team on execution of plan.
  • Plan and lead business while coordinating with key internal groups including HA Business Management, HA Finance, HA Business Planning, Consumer Business Division Marketing and Communications, Shared Services, Customer Development Organization.
  • Define sales strategy, business plans and Go-To-Market Strategy for Builder channels.
  • Develop and manage sales budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal Operating budgets.
  • Create strategies and lead sales and marketing teams to penetrate and develop major strategic accounts and new prospects.
  • Create and lead sales presentations to prospects, negotiate contracts, and close new business deals.
  • Define new processes and systems to address unique requirements (service, logistics)
  • Determine and continually refine new market and competitive positioning to maximize competitive advantage, inclusive of new opportunities within the IOT space coordinating cross-functionally as well as internally, externally, and globally.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, cost, and results.
  • Communicate about customer needs and requirements to guide product and process
  • Development and service delivery goals.
  • Set measureable, specific and compatible goals aligned with organizational objectives and values.
  • Engagement in any inorganic growth/capability development (M&A).

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering or other appropriate discipline required; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of successful leadership experience within a complex multinational organization
  • 5+ year successful track-record leading a sizable sales organization - in a leadership capacity
  • Deep knowledge of and personal relationships with national, regional and/or distributor sales partners/customers, builders (single-family new construction and multi-family new construction), developers, property managers and property owners
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, and ability to lead and coach others
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, partnered with excellent communication skills
  • Able to assess risks and manage accordingly
  • Strong intellectual rigor, with a good understanding of cultural issues and how to leverage them for success
  • Ability to lead complex projects, and work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker who can turn strategic objectives into practical actions
  • Ability to efficiently scope and execute concrete strategic initiatives
  • Structured analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Strong sense of urgency and speed to action
  • Ability to travel 50%+
