Your Mission:

Responsible for setting the vision and driving the commercial focus of Medidata’s Strategic Consulting Services. Create consulting offerings that support our customers efforts on platform implementations, digital transformations and analytically driven operating models. Proactively identify and cultivate business opportunities that support the adoption and optimization of the Medidata Clinical Cloud. Build, develop and lead the team of expert consultants to deliver high value consultants across the breadth of clinical development.

Your Competencies:

  • Drive adoption and use of creative problem-solving practices, such as Design Thinking, that focus on human centered solutions and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement a commercial strategy in collaboration with Sales and Marketing leadership that creates demand and preference for our consulting services.
  • Create consulting offerings that support our customers efforts on platform implementations, digital transformations and analytically driven operating models.
  • Lead and drive client’s understanding of our offerings to develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement
  • Develop and maintain meaningful and productive client relationships at all levels to ensure that strategic recommendations and creative deliverables surpass client expectations.
  • Engage with senior level clients to collaborate on solutions and approaches to improve and grow their ability to meet business objectives.
  • Support Professional Services in all phases of product adoptions from Study by Study to Enterprise level engagements
  • Manage and operate offerings around all Medidata products and services with the ability to sell both consultative and product functionality
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Provide oversight for clients delivery progress and project metrics
  • Facilitate turning ideas and initiatives into tangible results for both internal and external customers
  • Maintain reference able clients from beginning to end of the project life cycle
  • Manages direct reports (i.e., hires, trains, appraises rewards, motivates, disciplines, creates Performance Improvement Plans, recommends termination as necessary, etc.)
  • Drives consulting excellence by identifying and implementing industry best practice, best-in-class consulting methodologies, and a strong training and development curriculum for the consulting team.
  • Collaborates as an active team member with other products and services departments, as well as Sales, Finance, Customer Success, People Team and Product Development as necessary
  • Maintain effective business balance revenue / utilization / morale
  • Participates in direct customer and sales support as necessary
  • Proven knowledge/expertise in Medidata Implementation Processes, SOP’s and WI’s

Your Education & Experience:

  • A minimum of 15+ years of related experience with significant experience managing complex consulting engagements(Clinical Industry/Life Sciences experience, SaaS experience, IT/Software experience a plus)
  • Proven consulting and engagement management skills and prior consulting experience a must.
  • Deep understanding of Clinical Development, Data Management and Analytics
  • Expert knowledge and experience in consulting practices and methodologies.
  • Superior project and customer management skills
  • Demonstrated sales expertise and demonstrated results
  • Graduate degree in related field preferred
  • Technically savvy. Able to understand modern complex technical environments. Ability to become a ‘super-user’ of Medidata’s product
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert in MS office software
  • Technical Communication: Ability to create and present reports for distribution to a wider audience of individual contributors, line management and executive management
  • Expert Knowledge of data and tools used to manage customer service organizations Experience working in an enterprise environment
  • Willingness to travel 50+%
