We are currently searching for an experienced professional to join our team as a

Vice President of Marketing, Genetic Epilepsy

The Vice President, Marketing will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer at Marinus Pharmaceuticals.

The Vice President, Marketing will develop, build and execute a robust and comprehensive Brand Strategy that differentiates and demonstrates the therapeutic value of Marinus products to patients, healthcare providers and key stakeholders within the healthcare system. The Vice President, Marketing will be responsible for leading the company’s commercial launch efforts related to marketing strategy and execution and all aspects of commercial brand initiatives that support the utilization of Marinus products. The Vice President, Marketing must have a strong track record of partnering with cross-functional teams to build unity and alignment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

  • Build and execute the Brand strategy and tactics for Marinus pipeline of products
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with all key internal and external stakeholders in creating and overseeing the marketing strategy for current and future product candidates.
  • Assess and advise senior leadership on existing and potential markets and creates marketing and brand plans.
  • Continuously evaluate the marketplace, highlighting competitive intelligence to identify marketplace trends and shifts for internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend adjustments to plans and strategy as appropriate.
  • Build out the marketing function and oversee activities of internal and external resources in support of the marketing priorities which may include market research, trade shows to support sales, as well as patient support services.
  • Lead the evaluation of strategies to support market access and the long-term growth of the organization.
  • Establish critical commercial objectives and utilizes metrics to drive decision-making and measure success.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Medical, Regulatory, Legal and Clinical to coordinate commercial strategy.
  • Manage P&L and work closely with Finance to ensure alignment around business-planning processes and timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree (BA/BS) required, MBA preferred.
  • A minimum 15 years of experience Marketing, Sales or related commercial function experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership positions with increasing responsibilities
  • Experience with rare disease products, ideally in neurology/epilepsy rare disease
  • Experience creating, building and executing a brand strategy
  • Experience leading the US launch of a pharmaceutical product and experience supporting multiple commercial product launches (experience launching CNS products in the US is preferred)
  • Strong relevant subject matter knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, lead and motivate successful teams
  • Strive to lead by example, build strong relationships and emphasize collaboration in your activities
  • Demonstrated business acumen, including strategic and tactical planning and implementation
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to set direction, generate commitment, identify and resolve issues, and evaluate risk
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Up to 50% travel may be required based upon business needs
