About the Team

The Workday Planning UX Team believes in building delightful product experiences. We require a great deal of passion for user experience and user empathy as well as problem-solving skills, fun, creativity, and a deep understanding of interaction design. Our UX team focuses on simplifying the complexity of bringing together planning, reporting and analytics solutions in a single cloud platform.

We apply design best practices to improve – complex enterprise process workflows & collaboration, spreadsheets for data entry and modeling, data visualization & reporting, and platform management.

Our team is growing, and we are looking for another researcher who can contribute to our team culture. We want you to take ownership of one of the many problem spaces in our fold and make cloud data interactive, engaging, and beautiful.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Identify key research questions and objectives in partnership with product, design, and development teams

  • Design and execute research studies using appropriate research methods for the project, timelines, and business needs, using research methods that span from usability to co-creation workshops to ethnography

  • Analyze data and findings to define actionable insights for both short term and long-term product development

  • Plan and deliver research programs within budget, timeline and project requirements.

  • Socialize, collaborate, and present research work and findings to multiple teams and leaders, across the organization

  • Ability to visualize and present research data simply and clearly to diverse audiences

  • Your approach is customer-centric

  • You have a strong sense of curiosity, an ability to frame problems in new ways to drive your process and articulate your design thinking

  • You thrive when working and collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team of designers, product manager and engineers spread across continents

  • Experience leading on complex research projects

Basic Requirements

  • 5+ years professional experience conducting research

  • Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in anthropology, sociology, psychology, human-computer interaction (or other related field), or equivalent experience

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of evaluative, generative, quantitative and secondary research methods, and advanced expertise in at least one research methodology

  • A deep familiarity with the product development process

Other Qualifications

  • Been an active member of a research community of practice

  • Excellent collaborator, at ease partnering with other researchers, designers, product managers and developers

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Have experience creating educational content and/or teaching in your area of expertise

  • Direct experience and understanding of the Enterprise Performance Management / ERP industry a plus

  • Direct experience conducting research for B2B/enterprise products

  • Geekery about the latest technologies and design research methods

Colorado minimum salary: $103,700.00
