WHAT YOU'LL DO

BCG’s Knowledge Services group is a growing, global team that drives knowledge management strategy, program implementation and operations for BCG. The KS team provides overall management of major knowledge management platforms, products and programs, including efforts in areas such as machine learning/artificial intelligence, expertise/reputation management, search, content management, social collaboration/communities, taxonomy, analytics, business request management and other related topics. Within KS, the Digital Knowledge Group is a new and growing team focused on developing and deploying leading edge knowledge solutions supporting BCG’s business goals, through leverage of data, analytics and cognitive solutions.

We are seeking a passionate, driven and proven UX Research Analyst to play an integral role in the early stage development of the Digital Knowledge Group and its products. This is a multi-faceted role that will touch many aspects of user research, UX design and product marketing. We are seeking an experienced candidate who thrives in work environments that require strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Successful candidates will not only have a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies, but also will deliver both highly analytical, as well as highly creative ideas, to product teams and other key stakeholders.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research that deepens our understand of the user base for a variety of digital products, as well as change initiatives
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through ethnographic research, analytics/server logs, online experiments (A/B testing), card sorting, benchmark studies, lab studies, and surveys
  • Effectively communicate research insights & findings to product teams and stakeholders, leading with data-driven analysis, via written reports and oral presentations
  • Evaluate design concepts in support of digital product enhancement and improvements, with a strong focus on user experience, as well as efficacy and productivity
  • Grow our user research and insights capability as our product teams and portfolio expand, establishing an effective and continuous user engagement process
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and research managers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Work closely with leadership to evangelize the benefits of research driven design across product teams, and provide educational content and training to support this capability
  • Plan, organize, execute and summarize user interaction sessions and workshops as necessary to support UX research activities
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research
  • Identify support and other channels for identifying, and prioritizing user experience related issuesCoach and mentor other researchers/analysts to improve the quality of our user research

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Information Sciences, HCI, Psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience appropriate to role
  • Minimum of 3 years experience conducting UX research and analysis for software, SaaS solutions, Web applications which leverage emergent technologies, and/or mobile devices
  • Substantial experience conducting semi-structured interviews, contextual field visits, and usability studies, both live and remotely
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing UX research studies, with global scope
  • Experience with a breadth of UX research techniques, including ethnographic research, quantitative/qualitative analysis, online experiments (A/B and usability testing), card sorting, concept provocation and surveys
  • Extremely strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability
  • Established as an impactful team contributor, with strong collaborative problem-solving capabilities
  • A portfolio demonstrating your research work and if applicable, design work, is a plus
  • Experience with knowledge management platforms, products and or past projects a plus
  • Experience in professional services industry or other highly matrixed organizations preferred
  • Working knowledge of digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Trello, OneDrive a plus
