Rogers Group is seeking an individual to fill a UTILITY / MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position for our Laceys Spring Quarry located in Laceys Spring, AL.

The successful candidate for this role will have experience working in fixed plant maintenance – with crushers, screens, and conveyor systems. Experience operating various pieces of heavy equipment – like a front-end wheel loader, haul truck, and skid steer is also preferred. This individual will be responsible for helping to maintain the fixed plant and operate various pieces of equipment to support production, as needed. They must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

  • General plant/mine repair – working with crushers, screens, and conveyor systems and assisting with plant clean-up and operations.
  • Operate equipment – such as a loader, haul truck, or skid steer to manage stockpiles, and move materials as needed.
  • Receive training in various entry level production positions and fill-in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times.
  • Run water truck to control dust on roadways.
  • Report equipment problems and identify them to management; help maintain quarry and equipment.
  • Ability to do maintenance work and maintain conveyor belt lines.
  • Complete daily inspections and equipment pre-shift report – if applicable.
  • Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Must have a dedication to safe work practices.

- Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision.

  • Experience welding, fabricating, and performing industrial maintenance work preferred.
  • Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned.
  • Experience operating various pieces of heavy equipment – wheel loader, haul truck, skid steer.
  • Ability to perform laborer and cleanup duties.
  • Ability to perform various production duties.
  • May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as may be needed.
