Ultrasound Tech Per Diem

Position Responsibilities:


  • Checks patient chart prior to procedure to verify procedure ordered against patient requisition in accordance with written department protocol.
  • Provides accurate identifying data (such as patient's name, room number, date, time and technician's ID) on each test as required.
  • Performs studies in patient's room, in the department, and in other areas of the hospital, as requested.
  • Selects and utilizes various transducers according to anatomy.
  • Differentiates normal and abnormal structures and provides written impression concerning pathology viewed while scanning.
  • Assures that results are adequate for suspected diagnosis.
  • Reports abnormal results to the physician.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill when performing non-invasive vascular procedures.
  • Is able to attend to patient needs to meet prescribed treatment based on the patient's assessment.

Qualifications:

  • ARDMS registered or eligible
  • High School diploma or equivalent/Technical school preferred
  • 1 year experience or graduate technical school
