Truck Driver

Truck Driver Class A CDL
Pallet Express is looking for an experienced, result-oriented, and reliable truck driver to serve our customers in a safe and timely manner.

All runs are local, servicing a 150-mile radius from the Lehigh Valley. No NYC runs! Our drivers are home every night and drive new Penske freight liners. The majority of our drivers have dedicated runs to our 100+ customers.

We require a minimum of 2 years of experience driving. The average workweek is 55 hours per week. During peak season, drivers must be willing to drive 60-65 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from our manufacturing plant and customers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues before and after each trip
• Maintain clean vehicle interior and windows
• Adjust landing gear using a manual crank
• Regular attendance
• Report daily to Transportation manager to complete routes and meet deliveries
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving per DOT and company regulations
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents, or violations and follow all company procedures

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Professional demeanor when interacting with our customers
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)
• Valid truck driving license
