Job Description

Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard (Veterans Place), established in 1996 by Jewish War Veterans of America member Sid Singer, is dedicated to ending veteran homelessness in the Pittsburgh region. In 2020, Veterans Place served over 500 veterans through a range of supportive services, including approximately 5,000 meals, transportation, clothing, laundry, shower facilities, and an on-site food pantry. These services, combined with transitional housing, employment, and supportive programs, provide life-saving support to veterans in crisis and set them on a path toward long-term health and independence.

The Mission of Veterans Place is to empower veterans' transition from homeless to home, ending the cycle of homelessness, and to assist all at-risk veterans to become engaged, valuable citizens who contribute to their communities. Our vision is a community where veteran homelessness is rare, brief, and non-reoccurring and where veterans are valued, productive, and respected citizens who contribute to their community.
