Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Training and Development Coordinator role is responsible for defining, orchestrating, and administering all Tire Discounters Training activities and projects company wide. Employees are comprised of a diverse set of; multi-unit retail store staff (Sales and Technician), multi-functional office staff, warehouse/logistics, and multi-unit management. Tire Discounters is a high-growth retail and service business, that is the largest 100% family owned tire and automotive service business in the US. This Coordinator role will work with all Department Heads to understand, meet and exceed the training needs of all Tire Discounters Employees to accelerate business growth, by coordinating with both internal and external expert trainers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the development of the annual Training and Development Plan in conjunction with CCO, Retail VP and expert trainers (internal and external).
  • Establish systems to record and produce regular reports on training and development metrics, including spend, attendance, feedback and trainee/manager accessible training records.
  • Project Manager for the execution of the annual Training and Development Plan, including trackable KPIs, objectives, training calendar and by person execution plan.
  • Own all proactive and reactive communication of Training Plan and Schedule to Tire Discounters employees, including attendee/facility bookings, trainer coordination, and more.
  • Coordinate with all company resources to develop and administer training content including but not limited to business analytics, IT, HR, and Operations’ departments.
  • Develop and manage annual Training Budget, including travel/coordination, identifying, and implementing cost savings where applicable.
  • Coordinator and liaise with internal and external training providers as required. Including technical schools and parts and tire Manufacturers and Suppliers.
  • Maintain and curate training assets like micro-videos, job aides, how-to processes etc.
  • Serve as the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator. Primary liaison with LMS provider, owner of content load, QA and proper functioning of system by trainees.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of a new onboarding program for new employees, ensuring content is reviewed and updated continually in line with requirements and feedback received.
  • Coordinate with Events Manager to facilitate training at all company and franchise events (virtual and in-person)
  • Maintain awareness of Local Government funding opportunities for training and development programs.
  • Manage administration of programs such as ASE Blue Seal, Ohio Development Services Agency, and Toolbox Program etc.
  • Regularly assess Tire Discounters employee training needs. Providing recommendations for improvement, including external best practices.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of relevant industry developments, legislation, and practices
  • Develop and maintain excitement amongst all Tire Discounters for Training, including collaborative working relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Encourage and support the professional development of the training team. (including identification of external professional development and engagement forums)
  • Identify and implement new processes, procedures or systems to improve efficiency

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years minimum of experience in coordination, facilitation and deliver of effective training and development programs.
  • 5+ years of multi-functional collaboration experience
  • 3+ years of relevant qualifications in training, human resources or related field of study
  • 2+ years of experience being a systems Administrator
  • (Preferred) certifications for Microsoft 365 software usage
  • (Preferred) Secondary education or related industry certification in Training/Learning field
  • (Preferred) Tire Discounters experience
  • (Preferred) Automotive experience and certifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Works in a professional office setting
  • Uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, file cabinets, etc.
  • Walking, standing, sitting, listening and talking on a wide variety and continual basis.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • May require occasionally working outside of normal office hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
