We are seeking a team member that will be responsible for the assembly of trailers and equipment following prints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties:

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, prints and parts list. Gather parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and Vernier’s.
  • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
  • Assemble parts by examining connections for correct fit; Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill presses and portable power drills.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications. File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand and power tools.
  • Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping.
  • Mount on trailers, plumbing of fuel tanks, position, align assemblies and, subassemblies. Drill, grind, alter, mount components, touch up and prep equipment for delivery.
  • Maintain inventory levels by checking stock required for everyday assembly.
  • Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies, using grease paddles or solvents.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with company procedures and rules.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

1-3 years of mechanical or fabrication experience in a production/assembly environment required; previous experience with trailer assembly highly preferred.

Occasional lifting between 25 and 50 pounds, Carrying, pushing and or pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling. Generally the job requires 10% sitting 45% walking and 45% standing.
