Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment. The Tools and Parts Attendant does the following keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment; visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors; may coat tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and may attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool. All work is accomplished IAW with the applicable Army regulations, DA PAMs, Technical Manuals, Technical Bulletins, and Repair Manuals.



Requirements:

Requires 2 years’ experience in the issuance of tools and equipment. Basic knowledge of hand tools and property accountability. Ability to identify needed remedies or improvements, and recommend solutions. Skilled in effective oral and written communication to explain regulations, update policy and instructions, conduct investigations, provide program information to management and customers, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the organization's operation. The employee chooses, interprets and adapts available guidelines (that often contain conflicting or ambiguous instructions) to specific assignments, and recommends changes to those policies. Candidate must be able to perform all the tasks not exclusive of those described in the job description section. Must be U.S. citizen and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently and have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate both orally and in writing. Must be proficient in the use of computers and MS Office Software. Must be able to obtain a CAC and work the assigned shift hours. Must possess a valid state driver’s license; may be required to be licensed to operate Government provided vehicle. This job description is meant to be a guide.
