Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida provides programs and services for children and adolescents who face significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges. Located in Titusville, FL, this position is responsible for:
  • Working with adolescent male population ages 12-17 years old
  • Supporting a therapeutic environment, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the individuals we serve.
  • Conducting daily living activities, including health & hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, and recreation
  • Following and implementing behavioral support plans
  • Documenting shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.

All Devereux centers have formal infectious-disease and emergency-management plans tailored to specifically address the unique aspects of COVID-19 prevention. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization, just a few of these precautions have included:
  • Establishing enhanced cleaning and disinfection across all campuses and sites
  • Implementing social distancing protocols across all programs
  • Using PPE, including masks, gloves and gowns as indicated by the CDC
  • Ensuring daily temperature and symptom screenings for all staff and clients


Throughout the pandemic, Devereux has also supported the physical and financial health of our dedicated team members - our very own Healthcare Heroes. A variety of options have been implemented over time to support our staff, including the provision of:
  • Ongoing dedication bonuses, as well as sign-on bonuses, for direct support professionals (DSP) and other staff members

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Social Work preferred
Experience:
  • One (1) year of experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or 1 year experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or related setting required
  • Post-Secondary education (i.e., college, vocational or technical training equal to 30 semester hours) may substitute for experience

Schedule:

  • Must be able to complete a one-week (Monday - Friday) new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. Orientations are offered in Orlando, FL and Titusville, FL.
  • Must be able to work 1 weekend shift per week.
  • Must be able to work holidays.

Other Requirements:

  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, Physical Abilities Test, TB Test and Influenza Vaccine
  • Valid driver's license
    • Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Must be able to drive a car and a passenger van (which holds up to 15 passengers).
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
