Job Summary:



Under the direction of the Chief Clinical Officer/Director of Nursing coordinates staffing for all nursing units. Verifies licenses and certification in collaboration with HR and assists in maintaining nursing personnel files in an organized manner ensuring timely documentation of licensure and certifications. Serves as a liaison between the nursing administration and other hospital departments. Assists nursing administration with reporting staffing and scheduling variances. Adheres to staffing ratios within guidance and acuity.
Essential Functions: (Those functions that the individual who holds the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation).
? Develops and maintains nursing department staffing records including cancellation list, float log, master schedule, attendance records utilizing electronic scheduling system as available.
? Identifies in collaboration with the CNO/Director of Nursing or designee the number and level of personnel required to provide patient care, initiates changes in personnel and assignment as directed.
? Reviews the accuracy of the nursing payroll time sheets as assigned. Initiates changes and correction as necessary.
? Completes schedule and completes daily staffing sheets.
? Demonstrates competency and practice behavior in areas of staffing variances.
? Reports staffing problems and unusual situations to the DON or designee and keeps her/him informed of situations requiring follow up or immediate attention.
? Reports any employee absences, scheduling and tardy issues to the DON or designee for corrective and possibly disciplinary action.
? Maintains and verifies copies of current licensure, CPR and ACLS (if applicable) for the nursing staff, as appropriate.
? Maintains employees’ file on annual skills competencies, annual hospital updates and other educational competencies as directed by the Director of Nursing


Qualifications


Education:
? High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience:
? One-year experience as staffing coordinator in behavioral health hospital.
