YOU
You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As a Telecom Engineer, you will be part of a team who oversees Simpson Strong-Tie’s global telecommunications services. The primary focus of this role is to provide day to day operational support and maintenance for existing and new telecommunications services. You will also assist in projects leveraging various technologies that attribute to the overall success of Simpson Strong-Tie.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Daily administration and support of Voice, Video, and Unified Communications environment including, but not limited to, (Cisco Unified Communications, Contact Center, Cloud Calling, etc.). (30%)
Implement, maintain, and provide operational support for common VOIP Protocols, Call Components and Transports. (20%)
Monitor voice, video, and Unified Communications environment performance and troubleshoot problems as necessary. (20%)
Create and maintain documentation on all aspects of a global telecommunications environment including participation in the development of hardware, software, and documentation standards. (15%)
Interact with users and business partners in a consultative manner to gather and understand requirements to implement acceptable solutions. (15%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Prioritize and execute multiple projects and tasks in a high-pressure environment and provide timely status. Conduct research on varied topics as required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with customer service orientation.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills while working in a collaborative environment. Must also possess the ability to articulate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical people.
- Maintain a collaborative approach in dealing with other Simpson Strong-Tie employees
- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to reach mutually beneficial solutions.
- Monitor and review work for accuracy and completeness. Complete work according to procedures and standards.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with configuration and troubleshooting networking and telephony issues independently and successfully.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
This job requires domestic and international travel, up to 25%.
WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This full-time, exempt position will report to our Pleasanton, CA office. (Open to Remote). Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.

Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay
$75700 - $98400 / year
