Job Description
Play a central role in mitigating fraud and abuse on Meta business products, and mitigate risks as an investigation, attribution, and risk specialist on an elite team of technical investigators, that investigate and mitigate some of the largest threats to our platforms. On this team, you will have the opportunity to directly protect the safety of the Meta community through investigation and attribution of malicious actors that engage in fraud and abuse. You will work with cross-functional teams to capture evidence, prepare reports, and refer cases for litigation. You will be responsible for working across Business Integrity and with our cross-functional partners to understand and address systemic integrity-related risks holistically. This will entail assisting in the prioritization/reprioritization of risk manifestation across our platform and products, ensuring risks are scored and prioritized, understanding action items and themes, partnering with Integrity teams to treat risks, driving roadmap accountability, and articulating a narrative of top risks. A successful candidate should have expertise in risk, investigations, attribution, use of Open Source Intelligence Tools (OSINT), strategy, and will be able to oversee execution and collaboration across a large set of cross-functional partners. We're looking for an intellectually curious and creative individual, a structured multi-tasker, and master at prioritization, to protect our platforms from fraud and abuse and hold malicious actors accountable.


Technical Investigation, Attribution, and Risk Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Conduct technical investigations and attribution of networks of malicious actors.
  • Utilize internal tools and Open Source Intelligence Tools (OSINT) to identify and geolocate malicious actors.
  • Author investigative reports for legal teams to pursue litigation against fraud.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to reduce the prevalence of abuse on our platforms, and drive community engagement and trust.
  • Lead Business Integrity's risk management process to ensure that risks are identified, assessed, prioritized, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate identified risks.



Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience conducting cyber and technical investigations.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools to identify and geolocate malicious actors.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting attribution of malicious actors to determine their identity and geolocation.
  • Experience working in online fraud investigations, trust and safety, or cybersecurity.
  • Experience with risk management: identification, assessment, treatment, and evaluation of risks.
  • Experience authoring investigative reports for legal teams to pursue litigation against fraud.
  • Experience owning projects independently, navigate complex problem areas and collaborate with cross-functional teams with little supervision.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapt to changes, and prioritize competing requests.
  • Experience working with a team spanning multiple locations/time zones.
  • Experience with analyzing datasets to identify meaningful signals and patterns that correlate with fraud and abuse.
  • Experience thinking like the adversary, and to anticipate threat actors’ moves.
  • Experience performing data analysis, queries and reports with SQL or other languages/tools without dedicated data science support.
