Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Team Lead, Quality to join our first shift team. This position is based at our Richmond, VA location.

Position Overview:

This position will guide, support and lead quality production of electrical assemblies through leadership of the quality inspection team and other related quality manufacturing processes to meet customer, industry and internal specifications.

In this function you will:

  • Foster a zero incident safety culture through proactive environment, health and safety policy adherence, participation and communications.
  • Guide and support the quality inspection team through routine communications, inspection / production scheduling, onboarding / training procedures, peer to peer coaching and other team leadership activities.
  • Facilitate and report on on-time quality performance of all assigned product lines through part and product inspections, first article inspection (FAI) verification, appropriate documentation, non-conformance identification and quarantine, control and process audits as scheduled
  • Lead root cause analysis, structured problem solving, and corrective actions to identify, communicate and correct sources of non-conformance, production errors, and other related quality concerns
  • Identify, create and effectively communicate quality alerts to all impacted personnel (assembly, production, engineering, etc.) to ensure corrective actions are in place and avoidance of future errors / re-work.
  • Complete all inspections and audits using appropriate computer systems including Microsoft word to ensure accurate, on-time documentation and sustainability of quality reporting
  • Contribute to pre-production quality planning, including developing Quality Assembly documents, attending product and process reviews and technical training of production personnel
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering in machine capability studies for new and existing machines, work / assembly standards, machine calibration and other quality support activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a quality function
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology or other technical degree
  • ASQ Quality Technician Certification preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience as a Quality Technician, preferably in the Power industry
  • Six Sigma and Lean certifications and/or experience
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience
