Job Description
Brown Brothers Harriman is seeking an Oracle SQL Developer with RDBMS and exposure with ETL technologies to participate with the development of our evolving Data platform. BBH’s Data platform serves as the foundation for a key set of offerings running on Oracle Exadata, Dremio virtualization and Cloudera's big data distribution. Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Design, document and develop ETL logic and data flows to facilitate the easy usage of data assets, both batch and real-time streaming
  • Architect high performing data solutions using ETL or virtualization technologies
  • Help creating robust and high performing datasets that can be utilized Enterprise wide
  • Develop subject matter expertise to support requests/inquiries from various business user groups
  • Consistent practice in coding and unit testing
  • Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
  • Data Quality rules development (Data Governance)
  • Metadata management and stored procedure cataloging (Data Governance)
  • Work with distributed teams (DBA, Operating Systems, Application Production Support)
Qualifications for your role must include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Strong knowledge of architectural principles, frameworks, design patterns and industry best practices for design and development.
  • 3 – 5 yrs of experience in IT, primarily hands on development with Oracle RDBMS
  • 3 – 5 yrs of Oracle Query and Performance tuning
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming
  • Experience working with Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies
  • Experience in designing efficient ETL workflows
  • Experience in Agile development environment
  • End-to-end development life-cycle support (SDLC)
  • Linux & Solaris shell script programming
  • Communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven, work in teams and independently if required
Nice To Have:
  • Working experience in a financial industry is a plus
  • Understanding REST API integration
  • Java programming
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,000, which is specific to Jersey City, NJ and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
