Systems / Data Analyst - Root Cause Assessment Leader - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, OH


This position will be filled by an enthusiastic, results oriented, experienced root cause engineer, who is able to extract and analyze data from multiple sources, enact change through convincing presentations of data analysis, and development of improvement plans to promote high quality, and predictable results in hardware and software generation.

This Leadership Position will report to the NOG-E Quality Manager, and is a tactical, hands-on, results driven role that is responsible for building and maintaining a culture that strives for excellence through continuous improvement in the operations and salary support organizations at NOG-E. This Position will work with cross functional teams (including operators, shop supervision, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, etc.) to prioritize and drive quality improvements across all areas of manufacturing, quality, and systems development.


Job Description / Duties:


  • Manage Corrective / Preventative Action System to ensure adherence to system requirements
  • Develop targeted metrics when required to analyze failure modes
  • Analyze metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvements that will reduce defects in shop floor operations
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis events, and document process improvements to address process deficiencies
  • Manage Quality KPI’s for Corporate reporting.
  • Value stream map or process map processes and identify Value Add (VA) and Non-Value Add (NVA) activities.
  • Work across all levels of the organization to systematically identify and eliminate defects, in hardware, software, and system operations.

Job Qualifications / Requirements:


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline, from an ABET-accredited university, is strongly preferred.
  • Entry level, though minimum two (2) years of experience is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Lean Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, and collaborate effectively with partner organizations.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Power Point, Analysis tools, SAP and BI experience a plus.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
