Job Description
    DutiesSummary

    This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), Deputy Inspector General for Audit (DIG-AUD), Audit Leadership and Support Staff (ALSO), Follow-Up and Quality Assurance Division.

    As a SUPERVISORY REPORTS FOLLOW-UP ANALYST, GS-0301-14, your typical work assignments may include the following:


    Responsibilities
    • Research applicable laws, directives and other regulatory material to gain knowledge of issue areas.
    • Develop and maintain extensive technical knowledge of follow-up issues.
    • Prepare and review inquiry memoranda to ascertain status and adequacy of management?s actions to implement agreed-upon corrective actions for recommendations.
    • Provide input to the DoD OIG Semiannual Report to Congress, ensuring current follow-up status is reflected.
    • Prepare and present information and analyses on DoD follow-up issues to senior management within the OIG, OSD, GAO, and other DoD agencies.
    • Ensure full coordination of issues within assigned issue areas.
    • Ensure follow-up actions consider all levels and stages of programs.
    • Correlate report recommendations and results to identify fundamental management issues across departmental and functional lines.
    • Manage a diverse workload involving multiple issues, policies, and programs.
    • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key DoD and OIG officials and staff.
    • Supervise a staff of follow-up specialists.
    • Prepare the annual Compendium of Open Office of Inspector General Recommendations to the DoD.

    QualificationsSpecialized Experience: You must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal service with skills in verbal and written communication and managing large workloads that cover a wide range of issue areas. Applicants should have experience in analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and assessing the status of implementation of correction actions. Applicants should also have the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain interpersonal relationships to interact effectively with internal and external customers
