Position Summary:The Supervisor of Nursing assumes 24 hour responsibility and is responsible for the entire nursing operational functions for the Emergency Room. Additional responsibilities include; assigning Nursing personnel using established guidelines combined with knowledge of patient acuity. Evaluates oncoming shift for staffing needs and acts accordingly
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assesses Nursing staff for adequate orientation and training and communicates to Nurse Manager.
• Communicates with Nurse Manager regarding activities of Nursing personnel.
• Acts as resource for assigned shift regarding quality of care issues and adherence to established policy and procedure.

REQUIRED:

• Graduate of an approved school of Nursing.
• Two or more years of clinical Nursing experience demonstrating progressively more management ability.
• Michigan RN licensure

PREFERRED:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
