Job Title: Studio & Equipment Manager, Production Management Overview: The Studio and Equipment Manager is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all remote and studio operations for CNE’s West Coast production facilities. The ideal candidate will be curious about the teams’ needs and is a proactive “go-getter” that will put forth an enthusiastic, positive, solution-based effort to juggle, move, and coordinate all projects in line with their delivery dates. Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate all resources and logistics necessary to conduct production operations both in-house on CNE stages and remotely on location.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Production Management and Producers for stage scheduling, crew booking, equipment needs, and logistics.
  • Work alongside Producers, DP’s, and Tech Crew to match creative needs with the proper resources that are in-line with CNE tech/spec requirements and maximize efficiencies.
  • Maintain scheduling calendars, equipment requests, and resolve conflicts as needed.
  • Schedule and book appropriate Crew, maintain updated crew lists, input weekly hires into payroll logs, and facilitate payroll paperwork and timecards as required.
  • Source and build a freelancer pool of technical crew on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for the scheduling, maintenance, upkeep, and repairs of the internal studio space. Coordinate cleaning, painting, builds, etc. as needed.
  • Maintain and track internal equipment inventory, pack out gear for shoots, and secure equipment sub-rentals if in-house assets will not satisfy the requirements.
  • Ensure efficient usage of internal gear and resources, and schedule repairs as needed.
  • Develop and manage relationships and accounts with external Equipment Vendors, Production Companies, and Resources.
  • Originate all necessary Vendor Contracts, Purchase Orders, and Work Requests.
  • Track and report expenditures, process invoices, and payroll.
  • Arrange crew transportation and coordinate shipping/logistics for shoot equipment.
  • Initiate/create call sheets for shoots.
  • Coordinate with Building Facilities for various studio requirements such as usage/entry outside of normal business hours, air conditioning, deliveries, etc.
Additional duties as required to maintain an efficient and effective production environment.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must be production and equipment savvy with a good understanding of the various stages of production in order to effectively coordinate the necessary production team and execute a facilities plan that will keep production on schedule and on budget.
  • Must have knowledge and strong rolodex of Vendors, Crew, Equipment, and Resources that can provide crew, gear, equipment, and technical assistance.
  • Knowledge of current generation of camera, sound and lighting equipment, and the interest to stay on top of new technological trends.
  • Detailed oriented, organized, computer-savvy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Must work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
