Job Description

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking to hire a student assistant to be a member of the Matrix Team. The student assistant will participate in mobile digital wallet solution design, development, and testing.
Conditions of EmploymentThis is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check, educational verification (i.e., degree, license, or official transcript) and physical exam and drug urinalysis test. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises Inc., (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.
Work ScheduleFlexible, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Final schedule will be determined between student and supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule

Student Assistants and Graduate Student Assistants generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday-Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (Winter, Spring and Summer).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Basic computer operating system troubleshooting skills (Windows 7 and10)
  • Development languages
  • Knowledge of digital wallet technologies and development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organization skills and attention to details.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and prioritize duties, capable of coordinating many tasks by determining the importance of each task
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented with a proven reliable work ethic.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively -through email, telephone, IM, and in person.

PrerequisitesMust be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gather requirements, design and develop for robotic projects.
  • Ensure all the existing robots are meeting the standards and technical specifications based on the requirements.
  • Implement enhancements and address bugs for the existing robots.
  • Work with DMV stakeholders to gather requirements for DMV digital wallet.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for digital DMV documents and wallet.
  • Research innovative technologies for digital wallet solutions.
  • Assists Contract/Procurement Analyst with technical questions; provides additional review of contract and procurement documents.
  • Assists the assigned manager with special projects related to any area of procurement.
  • Assists with filing, copying, and data entry.

Physical RequirementsSit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, scanners, and fax machines, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office environment.
