Your Responsibilities


As a Strategic Supply Management Specialist for Crop Care located at John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny, IA you will support Supply Chain Integration (SCI) activities for your assigned commodity, relating to the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) for Application and Tillage equipment. You will also act as a program lead, representing SCI for assigned program/project. In addition, you will:


  • Develop, build and maintain ongoing relationships with assigned suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance; actively monitoring supplier performance and lead/support corrective actions when appropriate
  • Develop and implement SCI strategies for assigned commodity, ensuring alignment with unit and enterprise strategies to benefit financial and operational objectives
  • Work closely with suppliers, cost management and engineers to define and exceed EPDP objectives including cost, quality, and delivery objectives
  • Lead and/or support the negotiation of supply agreements
  • Support achievement of key program metrics and goals
  • Monitor and address metrics for assigned program/project, working cross-functionally to ensure key program metrics and goals are achieved

What Skills You Need


  • Demonstrated success in interpersonal communications, negotiations, and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, influence without authority, and execute cross-functionally
  • 2 or more years of experience with project management
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of financial analysis and business cases
  • Advanced understanding of SAP and PDM
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out


  • 3 or more years of experience in Supply Management
  • Cross functional experience (Supply Management, OFP, Operations or Quality)
  • Experience working with the Enterprise Product Development Process (EPDP)
  • Experience working effectively in an ambiguous and changing environment
  • Experience leading and motivating cross-functional team members
Education


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Management, Business/Management, Engineering or the equivalent work experience
