STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN WAUSAU HOSPITAL - WAUSAU

We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) in Wausau, WI at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. SPTs are integral members of the healthcare team who are responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, disassembling, packaging and sterilizing reusable surgical instruments or devices in a healthcare facility that are essential for patient safety.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Detail focused.
• Willingness to accept new ideas and work under stressful conditions.
• Ability to work closely with others in a fast-paced team environment.
• Successful completion of a vocational program for Sterile Processing preferred but not required.
• Sterile processing and/or healthcare experience in a hospital setting preferred but not required.
• Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 24 months of hire.

Hours: .8 full-time, 64 hours every 2 weeks. Varied shifts. Weekends: Approximately 1 every 6 weeks. Holidays: Approximately 2 holiday per year.
