ENSCO has existing contracts supporting USSF Space and Missile Center (SMC) and is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer with experience in systems, subsystems, and project engineering to support SMC programs. Position is located in the Cocoa Beach / Patrick AFB area. Duties include:
  • Provide Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support for various instrumentation systems including radar, command, weather, optics, surveillance, and associated systems.
  • Perform engineering of system architectures, requirements analysis and decomposition, including system performance test and verification.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to predict and define problems, define/design actionable corrective measures, and operational implementation of Launch Range systems.
  • Support system and subsystem requirements, architecture, and risk management products
  • Support project life cycle activities, including pre-award acquisition, requirements and design reviews, integration, test, logistics, and operational turnover.
  • Work with developers and associated contractors with and through government counterparts.
  • Track requirements to subsystems, generate requirements documentation, validate design meets requirements
Participate or lead technical meetings and government-led studies, assess technical baselines, and ensure system and project modifications meet requirements.

Qualifications Required (Skills)

  • STEM-based Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and a minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Able to function at technical and programmatic domains.
  • Working knowledge of Range instrumentation, RF, antennas, digital/analog processing, and associated systems architecture
  • Experience with requirements traceability, system-of-systems integration and testing, test planning, development, test execution/witness, and test reporting
  • Experience with project and systems’ engineering tools such as DOORS, Risk View, Architects, TopView, STK, JIRA, WebEX, VrV, and similar
  • Technical skills to understand and analyze system problems, root cause analysis, schedule risk assessment, solution definition, and conduct in-depth technical trade analysis, assessments and explain results of technical studies in a systems engineering context.
  • MUST HAVE A CURRENT SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.

Qualifications Desired

  • Working knowledge of Eastern and/or Western Launch Ranges.
  • Engineering experience with Launch and Test Range Systems (LTRS), Range of the Future (ROTF), and related.
  • MBSE.
  • TS/SCI clearance

Division Description

The Aerospace Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Division is based in Cocoa Beach, Fla., with facilities and capabilities in Colorado Springs, Colo., El Segundo, Calif., and Orcutt, Calif. ASE’s primary focus is aerospace engineering, cyber security and meteorological systems.

ASE is the prime contractor to the U.S. Space Force, providing Systems Engineering & Integration of the Launch Safety infrastructure, the Satellite Control Network and the Standard Space Trainer.

ENSCO’s aerospace engineering efforts support launch range activities throughout the U.S. ASE employees are developing the Range of the future and evaluating highly technical systems for critical launch operations, including range instrumentation, safety and communications.
