Raytheon Technologies is currently seeking a Sr Systems Administrator II/Linux for the maintenance of computer networks located in Springfield, Virginia. The team member selected will strive to enhance network support and automation, through technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse team whose knowledge base covers multiple computing languages and platforms.
Candidate will report to a Software Engineering Section Manager in Indianapolis, IN. The successful candidate will be involved in network management and maintenance in a secure classified environment, working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.

The successful candidate will also:

• Work in a team environment providing technical services on Red Hat Linux and Windows servers on operation systems, software, and their associated storage.
• Operations & Sustainment in a critical mission environment.
• Perform a variety of activities in information systems design support, development, and analysis encompassing one or more of the following areas of technical expertise: computer network defense, programming, computer application analysis, software development, systems integration, and related disciplines.
• Involved in all phases of the installation, integration and maintenance of software and hardware component changes to large, complex information systems.
• Distribution of application software to workstations and will assist users with issues with all workstation installed software.
  

• An activeDoD TS/SCI clearance w/ current BI
• Excellent working experience in Linux Systems Engineering / Administration (SA) background working with virtual servers, physical servers, and associated technologies
• Excellent working experience as Systems Administrator and in service accounts
• Ability to support rotational on-call support
• Must have or obtain Security+ and DOD 8570 Certification within 6 months of start.
  

• Working experience of Computer Network Defense systems using applications such as Tripwire
• Working experience with Windows Server 2008 R2 (or higher) and Windows Workstation 2007 (or higher) Administration
• Flexibility to support new design/architecture tasking as part of system modernization development efforts as requested is a plus
• Working experience with IAVA/security patch management, VMWare and V-Sphere
• Familiarity with other disciplines (e.g., IP networking, SAN and NetApp storage server systems, etc.)
• Excellentcommunication skills with a willing to work/travel with a small team for installs/upgrades 5% of time.
  

Clearance Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of 30 days of employment

Required Education:

Engineering/Other Technical Position - Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
