Software Engineer - Automation Infrastructure


THE ROLE:


Our growing team plays a major role in architecting and shaping every GPU offered by AMD.

As part of the Datacenter GPU Infrastructure team, you will be involved in designing and developing automation infrastructure and solutions which enable AMD’s next generation of datacenter GPU products.

THE PERSON:

  • Passionate about software and hardware technologies
  • Experienced Python developer with a strong understanding of Object-Oriented and software design principles
  • Linux, Windows, VM, and container power user or even better - an IT expert
  • Self-driven enjoys new challenges and quickly adapts to change in a fast-moving environment.
  • Interested in innovating and challenging the status quo
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop and support in-house automation and infrastructure solutions for both internal and external use, such as validation and manufacturing
  • Engage multi-disciplinary stakeholders for requirement gathering and issue resolving
  • Collaborate with other framework and tools owner to leverage existing solutions
  • Develop a deep understanding of upcoming AMD SOCs, IPs, tools, and programming libraries to create relevant and cohesive solutions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven track record of architecting and developing Python and other object-oriented based solutions in a team environment
  • Experienced with creating modular and maintainable code adhering to best practices
  • OS, VM, and container deployment using solutions such as Ansible, Gradle, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Background in Dev-Ops and CI/CD is beneficial
  • Hands-on computer hardware experience working with desktop, server, and lab setups
  • Software and hardware test + debug
  • Interest in Machine Learning and HPC applications and benchmarks
  • Experience in cross OS development in Linux and Windows environment is preferred
  • Familiar with source controls systems like GitHub, Perforce, and SVN
  • Knowledge in Python, HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with React, Node/Express, and databases is an asset
  • Knowledge of computer systems and architecture is beneficial
  • Good communication skills and ability & desire to work as a great teammate

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or an equivalent preferred
