At Regions, the Information Technology Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This position monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software
• Installs and configures systems and other software
• Tests installed software for malfunction detection
• Identifies and resolves business systems issues
• Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems
• Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
• Develops and implements strategies to improve systems
• Monitors and tests system performance
• Typically has full ownership of a process
• May act as a procedural expert

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Seven (7) years of experience

At Regions, the Senior Software Engineer formulates/defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from programs.

• Competent to work at the highest technical level
• Ability to work within multiple applications
• Codes, debugs and analyzes
• Competent with multiple languages/tools
• Applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments
• Plans, conducts and may supervise assignments
• Reviews progress and evaluates results
• Mentors junior level associates in technical complexities of assigned work
• Involved heavily with business segments
• Takes independent action, makes decisions and takes on ownership of applications
• Responsible for compliance

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Eight years business experience
• Experience with large technical environments and offers wide range of technical knowledge

• Strong verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
• Good project management skills, operating as part of a team organizing, planning and executing projects
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Ability to coach, teach and mentor

• A minimum of 5 years C# full stack development experience
• Experience with ASP.NET WebAPI and .Net Core
• Experience with Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Confluence) is preferred
• JavaScript experience with REACT JS is preferred
• A solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and database design
