Job Description
Overview:Sr. Director of Operations, OpenSquare

Currently, we are looking for an experienced Sr. Director of Operations to oversee OpenSquare’s contract furniture operations division. The primary focus of this role will be leading operations strategy while directly leading our Project Management, Installation and Warehouse teams. This position drives strong customer experience by integrating our Operations teams to deliver outstanding service.
Essential Functions:
  • Operations Strategy & Execution:
  • Leads the Operations function for the OpenSquare furniture division
  • Manages the Operations budgets including service revenues and all expenses
  • Drives core values of Customer Experience and Continuous Improvement
  • Works collaboratively with other departmental managers to improve cross functional communication and processes to enhance the customer experience as well as internal efficiencies.
  • Anticipates and resolves interdepartmental workflow challenges and conflicts
  • Project Management:
  • Oversees Project Manager functions and leaders
  • Ensures projects are appropriately planned, managed and measured
  • Ensures PM workload is managed effectively, and customer expectations are being met
  • Installation:
  • Manages Installation Services Function and installation leaders
  • Ensures all field personnel are properly trained and accountable for expected results (best practices)
  • Maximizes field labor productivity with regard to billable hours and overtime.
  • Efficiently manages Sub/Temp/OS labor force ratios to an expected financial outcome and customer outcome
  • Warehouse:
  • Oversees the OpenSquare warehouse and leaders
  • Ensures the timely and accurate flow of material in and out of the warehouse
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • People Leadership
  • Communicates a clear vision of the OpenSquare mission, values and objectives
  • Encourages and supports the development of new ideas and methods to improve the customer and associate experience, as well as organizational efficiencies.
  • Translates company initiatives into actionable items
  • Building an effective leadership team to lead all Operations workgroups including; developing effective succession, aligning the staff with the correct skillsets, setting clear, actionable goals and expectations, recognizing, rewarding and celebrating achievements
Key Competencies:
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of Operations leadership experience in the contract furniture, construction, architecture or facilities industries is required. (Other industries will not be considered)
  • 5+ years of experience managing people with a focus on training, development and succession planning
