We are looking for our next Liberator – a Senior DBA – to join our quest to provide market-transforming solutions for businesses, care teams and consumers to interactively manage health and care.

Reports to: Director, Infrastructure & IT Operations Location(s): Dallas, TX Expected Travel: up to 5%
Responsibilities:WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Develop and maintain the database technology stack (MySQL/MSSQL/PostgreSQL) ensuring data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability of the data.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy quality database solutions that are consistent with project objectives, technology architecture standards and departmental best.
  • Create and administer all database objects from design to deployment utilizing subject matter expertise to design or re-use, configure, and implement database solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, recoverability, and supportability.
  • Serve as the primary support for SaaS client requests for frequent and timely data copy processes, with a strong understanding of incident management and root cause analysis, while delivering high levels of customer service that aligns to our Internal and Customer service levels.
  • Perform script maintenance and batch job processing as a critical element of our data import management.
  • Ensure existing and new processes are integrated with standard operating procedures that also meet business requirements and system goals.
  • Collaborate with product and development teams by understanding the business requirements, ultimately contribute to our overall data roadmap.
  • Partner with architecture team to contribute to the future state technology strategy and to define database and application best practices.
  • Mentor and assist other team members as they onboard and migrate to new technologies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, related degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in database administration and management.
  • Hands-on experience in MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL database administration including capacity planning, load balancing, high availability, patching, upgrading, monitoring, data replication and migration experience.
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery for multi-site deployments on complex database environments.
  • Experience in database schema design including logical and physical database schemas design for large scale, highly available and mission critical application systems.
  • Experience designing and supporting the database components of software applications and an understanding of the entire application development life cycle.
  • Experience with complex SQL programming, performance tuning, optimization of SQL statements, setting up events, stored procedures, creating views and triggers.
  • Proficiency with Linux, shell scripting and cron are desired, should be equally adept in Windows.
  • Experience in private cloud and public cloud is desirable.
  • Knowledge surrounding code repositories such as Bitbucket and Github.
  • Good writing skills to provide documentation for DBA and other teams.
  • Experience in the healthcare IT, population health management, EMR and SaaS industries are strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivator, who can work independently, able to learn quickly, prioritize effectively, meets deadlines, and demonstrates problem-solving skills.
