Job Summary:

We are seeking talented Senior Data Scientists with experience in solving problems and drawing insights across clinical, translational and pre-clinical datasets to help advance therapeutics at all stages of development across interdisciplinary teams. This role will involve working closely with data, biological, and clinical scientists to make and contextualize insights from large-scale multimodal clinical datasets across behavioral/clinical, neuroimaging, and genetics/genomics data. This position is open in the Greater Boston and San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid).

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Work closely across inter-disciplinary program teams to define and solve pressing computational problems with proprietary and public datasets
  • Work closely with other data scientists and engineers to help set up and run data processing, feature engineering, quality control, computational analysis, and validation pipelines across a growing collection of multimodal clinical datasets
  • Work directly with clinical-stage drug development teams to integrate our data-sciences approach to enable clinical trial enrichment
  • Mentor and supervise other data sciences

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • PhD Degree in Biostatistics/Data Science/Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent) and 5-10 years' experience in applied data science projects OR Master's Degree (or higher) in Biostatistics/Data Science/Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent) and 7-15 years' experience in applied data science projects
  • Strong applied skills in R and/or Python
  • Strong experience in at least one neuropsychiatric or neurodegenerative brain disorder with the ability to communicate fluently with clinical scientists
  • Strong experience in at least one "big data" modality, e.g. neuroimaging (FMRI), genomics, electronic health records, etc.
  • Familiarity with best practices of reproducible data science workflows and cloud computing environments
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Great to have:

  • Life-sciences domain knowledge in utilizing computational techniques to advance basic, translational, and clinical science.
  • Advanced experience using Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with R or python package development/software engineering
  • Experience working in biotech/pharma environments
  • Experience in algorithmic development, machine learning, and applied mathematics
