JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW

The Senior Analyst utilizes knowledge of finance, accounting and insurance strategies to provide business and financial advice to TriNet's senior management team through various analysis functions. The position is responsible for preparing financial reports and analyses (including budgets and forecasts) for Insurance Services, Financial Planning and Analysis and Accounting, and serves as liaison to assist them with all their financial needs. The position provides regular support to other Finance-related functions, such as the month-end close process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficient in SAS and Excel Macros

• Train, prepare, and mentor new employees for Analyst responsibilities

• Identify SOX control gaps and develop/implement processes to evidence completeness and accuracy

• Identify potential areas of risk that threaten the success of the company and propose methodologies and solutions to overcome those risks and reduce their effects

• Responsible for compiling and presenting key reporting metrics and other visual materials to highlight the effects of risks

• Produce and present forecast for all Insurance Services revenue lines inclusive of robust summary of assumptions

• Prepare and validate quarterly consolidated forecast, monthly IBNR review meeting material, and monthly revenue presentation

• Independently design, analyze, and communicate findings resolving ad hoc requests and questions

• Identify and implement process improvements to existing procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• BA/BS in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Math, Economics, Accounting or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

• 4+ years analytical experience preferred

• Experience and understanding of working in an insurance environment preferred but not required

• Experience with business intelligence reporting tools is preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong analytical, qualitative and quantitative skills

• Attention to detail and ability to distinguish materially important variances in data

• Analytical mindset, ability to independently identify and communicate relevant information

• Self-starter willing to identify problems and proactively work to identify solutions

• Strong financial analytical skills required, basic accounting knowledge helpful

• Ability to work cross functionally with different departments in different time zones as well as with third party partners

• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace

• Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently

• Ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with ability to explain complex financial data

• Excellent problem-solving skills required with ability to apply analytical skills to business

• High level of organization, integrity, accuracy, and precision

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Office environment

• Travel minimal: 0-10%

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear

• Work outside of normal business hours may be required as the business dictates

• Formal business attire is required when meeting with carriers and/or executive management, otherwise business casual.
