Job Description
Description:The Specialist, Safety Management System (SMS) and Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) is responsible for leading and managing the Safety Management System (SMS) and is responsible for autonomous and unbiased assessments of our operational, quality and safety programs thorough a risk based, value added thought process.
1) Participate in risk assessment, maintain a continuous improvement mindset, recommend audit plans and present evaluation data to management
2) Communicate to all levels of the organization to develop risk-based tools and techniques to strengthen operational programs, processes, and controls
3) Provide leadership, training, and management to staff to develop and demonstrate a participatory and team-oriented approach in pursuit of innovation
4) Coordinate and support external reviews of company operating divisions
5) Provide direction and supervision for administering SMS activities associated with Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) and safety assurance
6) Review policies, procedures, and actual practices to uncover deficiencies and their causes
7) Identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plans to correct these deficiencies
8) Perform follow-up evaluations on any uncovered deficiencies
9) Assist in administering the Safety Program for all Company teammates and vendors
10) Gauge the corrective actions taken by management to satisfy that hazards identified during evaluations have actionable, effective, and measurable plans to resolve findings
11) Be the functioning lead for corporate quality assurance activity and quality management
12) Perform analysis and reviews upon request to include system implementations, safety, and compliance investigations
13) Provide input and management in development and implementation of safety database systems
14) Monitor and report to the Director Safety on all air carrier activities that may have an impact on safety
15) Manage, oversee, and supervise implementation activities related to the Corporate Safety Management System (SMS) and Internal Evaluation Program (IEP)

Work Experience in Similar Position: 1-2 years
