We are looking for a Specialist who will be responsible for performing the day to day GL accounting and financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

  • Process and reconcile cash receipts from both Clients and Insurance Companies in an accurate and timely manner
  • Reconcile statements and issue payments to Insurance Carriers for an assigned segment of business
  • Responsible for month end account reconciliations for assigned Balance Sheet accounts for assigned segment of business
  • Monthly Bank reconciliations for designated accounts
  • Maintain and provide documentation and data as support for Auditors – both internal and external
  • Compile and maintain financial records such as journals, ledgers
  • Prepare and post journal entries as required to general ledger
  • Reconcile and process Outside Broker payments – this involves calculation of commissions due in accordance with relevant Producer contracts, posting expense accrual entries, communicating amounts due and also extensive communication with Producers, Outside Brokers and Management
  • Assist with gathering the data necessary in order to provide timely and accurate monthly forecast information
  • Participate in our annual Budgeting process – assist by researching trends, analyzing prior year variances etc. as well as updating the budget software within published timeframes
  • Respond to frequent ad hoc requests for data and deliverables from our ancillary systems
  • Perform analytical projects for controller and unit leaders on a regular basis
  • Assist with Special Projects - E.g. analysis and reformatting of raw data relating to potential Book Purchases.
  • Review and Update Fixed Asset Schedule
  • Provide detailed reports to Unit Leaders in order to facilitate decision making surrounding T&E
  • Research variances, errors or anomalies in work product, escalating to management as appropriate
  • Comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Assist with the gathering of data for and preparation and maintenance of reports to measure and monitor division and industry metrics

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree or two years of experience on a specialized subject matter
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of
organization, both internally and externally
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
