The Space Electronics Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering Department is seeking a Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) / Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) Engineering Manager located in El Segundo, CA. The candidate will manage and mentor individual contributors performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of RF Electronics SSPA and LNA design and verification.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, help grow and mentor the next generation of engineers, and guide the candidates’ career towards future positions within Boeing leadership.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Execution and implementation of integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures
  • Providing input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives
  • Acquiring resources for departmental activities
  • Providing technical management of suppliers
  • Leading process improvement initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes pertaining to SSPAs and LNAs
  • Managing, developing, and motivating individual contributors
  • Driving employee performance development, hiring, and staffing projections

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics required
  • 10 or more years of experience with Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA) or Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA) design and production
  • 3 or more years of experience in a leadership role as a (Line management, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or Responsible Engineering Authority (REA)
  • This position requires onsite presence in El Segundo, CA

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance (SSBI or TS/SCI)
  • Previous Line management experience
  • An advanced technical degree is preferred (engineering, mathematics, physics)
  • ABET accreditation is preferred
  • Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
  • Previous experience developing and enforcing engineering processes
  • Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time (as required)

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
