SOFTWARE ENGINEER - SENIOR

The project is looking for a Software Engineer with language technology expertise to implement major capabilities and architecture improvements in the program. This individual will have a major impact on the tactical and strategic course of the program, which is now expanding beyond machine translation to provide any human language technology required to meet mission needs. The program's work on human language technology is a high-priority, high visibility issue extending into the foreseeable future. This individual will: Be a part of a team of experienced developers and perform all roles throughout the software development life-cycle; Use his/her proven technical expertise to develop new capabilities; Use his/her rigorous development methodology, technical writing, verbal communication, and problem solving skills to properly estimate, plan, execute, document, and represent the project; Install and support multiple deployments of the application on various internal and partnering networks; Execute all governance and CM processes required as part of deployments (change requests, OSP, ERBs, etc.); Perform test planning and testing; Be an expert resource for language translation technology and its use throughout the Sponsor's Partners; Backup his/her project manager at meetings and give presentations; Assist with requirements and program outreach efforts to the program's customers; Work with customers to identify, evaluate, improve, and integrate existing and new language translation technologies to support their mission; Research and evaluate language translation technologies to integrate their capabilities into this application; and Perform all roles throughout our Agile software development life-cycle.

1. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Java, J2EE (JSP, Servlets, taglibs), CVS, Apache, Tomcat, Linux and Windows (troubleshooting, debugging, and System Admin).
2. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Agile development processes.
3. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Machine Translation.
4. Demonstrated on-the-job experience implementing/following/performing all phases of a rigorous software development methodology and developing full technical system documentation.
