In this role you will wear many hats, with a focus of delivering exciting technology solutions for our clients and growing our internal staff in technology. You will be managing a team of approximately 15 resources (mix of employees / domestic and offshore contractors) responsible for the delivery of designated projects and the delivery of quality software.

We’ll need you to achieve the following:

  • Drive the workflow platform to achieve stated business objectives with a focus on BPM design and engineering
  • Lead team members across scrum teams and work with partners to deliver applications across the full software development lifecycle - designing, developing, testing, and supporting software applications
  • Influence, refine, and communicate architecture designs and technologies to develop modern middle office applications, with a strong focus on operational efficiency.
  • Build on the automation capabilities for the team and deliver associated roadmap
  • Build meaningful relationships with partners in many different parts of the firm to achieve targeted deliverables
  • Focus on building the skills of your team and raising their certification levels
  • Leverage excellent communication skills to influence your own staff through senior executives
  • Implement software development best practices as the go-to development partner between principals and the scrum team members
  • Manage talent acquisition by identifying resource needs, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new engineers and analysts
  • Provide project execution transparency and communicate with senior management and stakeholders on application and project status, risks, and issues; create reporting artifacts such as burn-down charts, project roadmaps with key milestones, and status reports

What you are good at


We have an exciting role for a self-motivated leader who is up for delivering transformational change. We are looking for someone with the following background:

  • A university degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of software experience delivering projects and working with software engineering practices.
  • 5+ years of experience with running development and testing for large, complex projects with cross-functional dependencies
  • Experience managing a matrixed organization to achieve delivery outcomes (product owners, QA, platform support, other teams).
  • Experience and skills to work with resources in different geographic locations, including offshore
  • Experience with workflow automation tooling is preferred.
  • Financial services industry experience is preferred.

  • Experience successfully driving technology change initiatives in an organization
  • Experience hiring exceptional technology staff with ability to coach, manage and grow staff
  • Skilled at tactfully communicating sensitive information
  • Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual
  • Evokes creative and innovative thinking from team members while helping them to bring their ideas and career plans to fruition
  • Helps to determine new, creative ways to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilities
  • Assesses training needs and selects training tools for team members
  • A visible leader that yearns for developing and motivating the next technology leaders
  • Ability to drive through, directly and through influence, efficient solution strategy, with agility and leadership skills which engineers recognize and respect
