ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Establishes daily, weekly and monthly objectives for assigned staff.
  • Directs, monitors, and coaches employees in daily duties to ensure safe working practices and exceptional product delivery.
  • Designs and maintain the shape and integrity of all Terrain Park features by communicating with snowmaking, grooming staff, and the Terrain Park Manager to ensure a quality terrain park.
  • Ensures guest experience by overseeing staff/guest interaction, developing and implementing a guest survey system to ensure a quality experience for everyone in the park. Being knowledgeable about all resort offerings
  • Ensures the upkeep of the Terrain Park Log by monitoring entries and checking to see that they are both current and accurate. Training employees in the correct documentation procedures.
  • Oversees the aesthetic qualities of the park grounds and facilities by ensuring that trash is picked up, tower pads are adjusted properly, the facilities are kept neat and clean and that appropriate music and volume level policies are being followed.
  • Assists with and ensures the regular inspections and maintenance of equipment and tools is performed by operators or as set forth by the manufacturer’s recommendations in order to optimize the crew’s productivity and keep all equipment and tools in good repair
  • Oversees staffing issues by scheduling employees and taking appropriate measures to guarantee adequate coverage to meet traffic levels in the park
  • Follows M.T.I. Practices by maintaining a feedback log, conducting “one on one” meetings with employees, coaching and correcting when necessary and reviewing employee’s performance
  • Assists with the coordination of contests by setting up and taking down fencing, judging areas and banners. Acting as a judge or course official, recording results and other duties as assigned and delegating the above duties when necessary. Maintains a presence at all Races and Events and supports the events team as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent – minimum required

Experience: 4 years skiing/snowboarding. 2 years of supervisory experience. – preferred

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be an expert skier/snowboarder and have the ability to ride the terrain park. - minimum required
  • 2 years supervisory experience. – preferred
  • Knowledge of terrain park operations and construction. -preferred
  • Basic computer skills. - preferred
  • Must meet minimum requirements of the Snowshoe Driver’s Program

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Any employee or volunteer who operates a company vehicle including cars, trucks, snowcats, snowmobiles, or heavy equipment is required to comply with the Driver’s Standards Policy. This policy also applies to employees or volunteers driving their personal vehicles for company business more than four times per month, averaging 30+ miles per trip. All drivers should receive a full copy of the Alterra Driver’s Standards Policy; if you have not – please contact your Risk/Safety or HR/EE Department.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Incumbent will be required to work a flexible schedule which may include early mornings, late evenings, and or weekends. Weather patterns will play a role in work schedules.
  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Office Environment:

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

Mountain Environment:

  • The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc.
  • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
  • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
  • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
