Shop Helper/Utility Technician
Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing is looking for a Shop Helper/Fleet Utility Technician.

Job Purpose:

The Shop Helper/Utility Technician will fuel and clean trucks according to instructions and guidelines set in the S.O.P. The position will also maintain the yard and shop to company standards as far as organization and cleanliness at all times.

Job duties:

  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections for the Service and Rental departments.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives at the direction of the service department.
  • Pick-up and delivery of units from customers and vendors.
  • Fueling of vehicles both on and off site.
  • Ability to conduct a multi-point fuel island inspection.
  • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Maintains fuel island inventory at all times.
  • Maintains company standards for yard and building areas at all times.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders, verifying receipt.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow all written and oral instructions, Attention to Detail, Excellent Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Must be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver License within 120 days of hire.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 75 lbs.
