Position: Shipping Loader / Unloader
Sign On Bonus $1,500.00

Shift Start time: 8:00pm
Reports to: Shipping Supervisor
Location: City of Industry, CA

We are currently seeking a Shipping Loader for our glass fabrication operation located in City of Industry, CA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Loads and unloads trucks and racks of glass; packs and stacks product in appropriate areas. Utilizes a seated forklift to transport material safely throughout the plant. Ensures trucks are loaded according to DOT Safety Standards. Stages material daily prior to loading trucks; reads and attaches appropriate labels and tags to products. Wraps and boxes material with plastic wrap and cardboard to prevent damage to material. Transports glass or other materials from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the production process. Straps glass to the carts and or trucks so they are safe for moving. Follows work instructions by reading labels to expedite the production process; understands and communicates paperwork and labels/picking list. Utilizes a tape measure to ensure product is within the product specifications. Utilizes the computer and Microsoft Excel to perform data entry related to shipments. Quality inspection, operating equipment, and/or manually maneuvering equipment.
Minimum Skills and Requirements: Must be able to drive a seated forklift. Must be proficient at using a computer--specifically Microsoft Office (Excel). Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to follow instructions from Supervisor, Plant Manager and/or Branch Manager. Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region in a non-climate controlled facility (Heat, Cold, humidity). Must be able to wear company-issued cut resistant safety shirt, hard hat, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection , safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal direct supervision. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Must be able to work overtime with flexible starting times in some departments. Regular and predictable attendance, safe performance of tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
Education/Experience: Experience in a production or manufacturing environment; Glass industry is preferred (not required). HS Diploma/GED Preferred. Experience driving a seated forklift required. Previous experience in manufacturing strongly preferred.
