The general purpose of the Shipper is to verify the correct part is being shipped as well as the correct quantity and quality standards are met. Each shipment is to be adequately braced, packed, and banded to ensure all product arrives safely without damage. Shipments are plastic shrink wrapped for further protection.

The general purpose of the Material Specialist is to gather necessary inventory items from stock to fill requirements needed for each production order and to deliver to the next step in the process. The material specialist will also un-load and load trucks and move pallets from one production process to another as needed as well as support the inventory manager with counts and maintaining accurate inventory levels.

Responsibilities:

· Package orders for shipping (palletize, wrap, band, shrink wrap, etc)

· Pull parts from stock to fill job requirements withing 24 hours of packet creation.

· Move parts and in process materials to the next process area

· Count parts, report inventory discrepancies and or shortages

· Housekeeping and organizing shipping and material storage areas.

· Support un-loading trailers and putting away parts as needed

· Parts to be put away within 24 hours of receipt.

· Use hand tools such as drills, nail guns, and a heat gun.

· Utilize the computer for part inventory inquiries or part location information.

· Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools to identity parts match orders

· To provide quality and timely workmanship on each work order and maintain daily time standards

· Demonstrate ability to follow established safety and quality procedures.

· Work in a Team environment, be flexible to move from job to job to support the schedule

Additional Responsibilities:

· The following additional responsibilities may be assigned by the shop supervisor:

  • Assist the other crew members or shop personnel in performing their duties as directed by the shop supervisor. Painting or assembly are some examples.
  • Housekeeping is an important responsibility. When conditions are such that there is no other work in your area or assigned outside your area then housekeeping and 5S organizing will need to be done.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 8hr shift: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 – 4:00 PM

Overtime may be necessary from time to time to get critical orders shipped. Most of the time these are not planned ahead so flexibility is important. Weekend overtime from time to time may be required for inventory purposes.

Required Qualifications for Shipper / Material Handler

· 2-3 years of work experience as a material handler a plus

· Lift up to 50 lbs

· Bending, walking, stooping, standing up to 90 % of the time.

· Work in shop that is not air conditioned and only partially heated

· Operate a crane to lift heavier parts and equipment.

· Ability to pass a Fork Truck driving test

· Will have 30 day review to be hired into a full-time position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1.00 - $21.00 per hour
