JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Server provides exceptional dining service to residents in a timely, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner with a sincerely pleasant and professional demeanor. He or she performs a variety of duties related to meal service, including setting tables, serving beverages and meals to residents, clearing tables, and cleaning the dining room.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents
• Sets tables before meals
• Serves beverages and meals to residents
• Provides feedback from residents to the Food Service Director regarding meals and food preferences
• Busses and resets tables in the dining room following meals
• Restocks dining room tables with condiments
• Cleans the dining room after meals
• Reports any abuse, suspected abuse, or alleged abuse to the appropriate supervisor and/or agencies
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be dependable
• Must be able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
• Must be well-groomed and willing to follow dress requirements
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 20 pounds, to occasionally lift more than 30 pounds, and to spend long periods of time on feet
• Must be free of communicable disease
• Must be able to physically/mentally perform tasks, as verified by a health screening that includes TB clearance (if required)
• Must have a clean criminal record, as determined by a criminal record clearance
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English
• Must have a general understanding of the needs of seniors
