Position Summary

The Farehouse Market is seeking an outgoing, confident, high-energy Server with a solid background in customer service. The Server will be responsible for ensuring guests' dining experience is enjoyable, timely, and pleasant. Work alongside the service and support staff to provide a great experience to guests, while assisting in the restaurant, as necessary. The Server is expected to maintain a professional and inviting attitude and provide a warm work environment in the course of interacting with guests during their visit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cascades the vision of The Farehouse Market ensuring the company's mission, values and founding principles are effectively communicated, understood and practiced.

Demonstrates commitment to Farehouse vision, values and missions through actions on a daily basis.

Reports to scheduled shifts on time and in complete uniform.

Greets courteously all customers who walk through our doors.

Provides efficient, friendly and prompt service to the the customers and patrons of the building's tenant businesses.

Informs manager of need for change in a timely manner.

Attends members and guests with impeccable dining service, food knowledge, and thoughtfulness

Assists members in selecting food and beverages by maintaining a thorough knowledge of changing menus, suggesting courses, explaining the chef's specials, identifying appropriate wines, and answering food preparation questions.

Protects members by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.

Stays updated on current specialties and menu changes.

Transmits orders to bar and kitchen accurately and in a timely manner, identifying any special dietary needs and special requests.

Keeps culinary team informed by monitoring timing and progression of the meals.

Responds to additional member requirements by inquiring of needs and observing the dining process.

Ensures that tips are reported in ADP.

Maintains table setting by removing plates, replenishing utensils, maintaining water and beverage service, being alert to member spills, or other special needs.

Properly opens and pours wine table side.

Obtains revenues by charging the appropriate member account promptly in POS system.

Performs basic restaurant side-work and additional cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.

Promptly addresses service issues and refer members to management when necessary.

Serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process.

Maintains supplies and inventory.

Assists in overall sanitation and organization of line and surrounding areas.

Maintains open, positive and effective communication with others.

Performs opening and closing responsibilities, storing and cleaning of all line items and restocking all areas assigned.

Maintains and develops relationships with clients, guests and staff during events by using their names whenever possible and anticipating their needs.

Follows all The Farehouse Market policies and food safety guidelines.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements/Specifications

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant.

Food Handler and Basset Certifications

Preferred:
Experience in Fine Dining restaurant.
